8/5/2013- A-Rod suspended, Padres def Yankees 2 out of 3, Royals def Mets 2 out of 3, more

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a great weekend! Let's cut to the chase because there's a lot to be talking about, shall we? Here we go!

MLB
Over the weekend, the Yankees were in San Diego facing the Padres in a 3 game set. The Yankees lost the 1st game, won the 2nd game, and lost the 3rd game. Meanwhile, for the Mets, they were hosting the Kansas City Royals in a 3 game set. The Mets won the 1st game, but lost the series as they lost 2 straight to KC. The Yankees will be in the South Side of Chicago to take on the White Sox in a 3 game set, while the Mets will host the Colorado Rockies in a 3 game set. However, the bombshell doesn't stop there.

Today, MLB has suspended 13 players, including Alex Rodriguez for the Biogenesis scandal.
According to MLB.com, "The players who were handed 50-game suspensions that effectively end their regular seasons include Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta, Mariners catcher Jesus Montero, Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera, Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, Phillies reliever Antonio Bastardo and recently demoted Mets utility man Jordany Valdespin."

Out of all the players who will be suspended, Alex Rodriguez received the harshest punishment as he will be suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season, as well as the 2014 season, effective Thursday. The rest of the players agreed to a 50 game suspension, ending their seasons. However, what's the most bizarre story is that Alex Rodriguez is appealing his suspension and will be playing 3rd base tonight against the White Sox. On one hand, it may not be so strange considering that his suspension isn't effective until Thursday, thus A-Rod can play the White Sox series.

Now it's time to change the subject.

WWE
Tonight's Monday Night Raw will be live, and the thing to expect is the "corporate makeover" Stephanie McMahon has scheduled for Daniel Bryan. As they say, schedule is subject to change when it comes to professional wrestling so I'm not sure whether WWE will follow up on this angle.

That's all I have to say for now. Have a good week everyone!
