Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I have been away for a while since I had some personal matters to take care of, but now I am back and am ready to entertain you with my thoughts. Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Here we go!
MLB
During the weekend, the New York Yankees hosted the San Francisco Giants in a 3 game set at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees won the 1st 2 games, but failed to sweep on Sunday as they lost 2-1. What made this loss more devastating is that the Yankees are now 4 games back of the wild card, and it was announced today that CC Sabathia will be out for the remainder of the season. I hate to say this, but the Yankees are officially snake-bit and highly unlikely there will be postseason baseball in October. Technically, the Yankees are still "in the hunt". However, with teams ahead of them playing a lot better baseball, things don't look good for them.
The positive to take out from this weekend was that yesterday, the Yankees honored and celebrated Mariano Rivera's career. Legends such as Jorge Posada, Paul O'Neill, Hideki Matsui, Joe Torre along with many others attended this celebration. The coolest part was that Metallica performed Enter Sandman live at Yankee Stadium during the ceremony.
Keep in mind, this is a fan-recorded feed of the Mariano Rivera ceremony. I don't know if YES Network has uploaded this on their YouTube channel.
On the other side, the New York Mets have swept the Philadelphia Phillies in which I believe is the 1st time this season. I read that the Mets have moved to 3rd place with the sweep, but that means nothing since the rest of the NL East isn't making the postseason and only the Braves have won the division.
NFL
Yesterday, the New York Giants were on the road facing the Carolina Panthers. And I have to say, this would be considered a massacre for Giants fans since the Giants were shut out 38-0. Not only does this shut out hurt, but this is the 1st time since 1996 that the Giants have started 0-3.
Later in the day, the New York Jets hosted the Buffalo Bills at home, and they won this game 27-20. However, this game had it's negatives since the Jets were penalized so many times, and Kyle Wilson was this close to being ejected from the game. Luckily, the offense played well since Bilal Powell, Santonio Holmes, and Geno Smith had a nice day (despite the 2 turnovers).
UFC
This past Saturday, UFC 165 took place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Overall, there were 13 fights on the card. 4 were streamed on Facebook, the other 4 aired on Fox Sports 1, while the rest aired on PPV. Here are the results:

WWE
It was announced by 2K Sports that the WWE 2K14 Roster Reveal will be done tonight during Monday Night Raw. Tune in tonight to find out who will be in this year's game.
That's all I have to say for now. Enjoy the rest of your week!
