9/30/2013- Yankees sweep Astros, Brewers def. Mets 3 out of 4, KC Chiefs def. NY Giants, Tennessee def. NY Jets, more

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend this weekend! Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Here we go!

MLB
During the weekend, the Yankees swept the Houston Astros in a 3 game set, while the Mets lost to the Brewers 3 out of 4 in which both teams played meaningless games. The reason why it's meaningless because for the first time since 2008, both teams have missed the playoffs. Which means for the Yankees, it's the end of an era as Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera are now retiring from the sport of professional baseball. With the retirements of the former two, Derek Jeter is the last player from the Gene Michael/Buck Showalter era to be with the New York Yankees.

The New York Yankees finished the season tied with Baltimore 85-77, but finished 4th place in the AL East. The New York Mets finished 74-88, 3rd place in the NL East.

Now that the regular season is over, it's time for the 2013 MLB Postseason to occur. That means you'll be hearing this song on TV.

Here are the seeding for the 2013 playoffs:

American League
1. Boston Red Sox (AL East Division Winner)
2. Oakland Athletics (AL West Division Winner)
3. Detroit Tigers (AL Central Division Winner)
4. Cleveland Indians (AL Wild Card #1)
5. Tampa Bay Rays/Texas Rangers (AL Wild Card #2)*

National League
1. St. Louis Cardinals (NL Central Division Winner)
2. Atlanta Braves (NL East Division Winner)
3. Los Angeles Dodgers (NL West Division Winner)
4. Pittsburgh Pirates (NL Wild Card #1)
5. Cincinnati Reds (NL Wild Card #2)

*- Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers will face off in Game 163 to determine the tiebreaker

A separate post is dedicated to the MLB Postseason and will be updated as the weeks go by.

NFL
Yesterday, both New York football teams played very bad football. The Giants were in Kansas City to face the Chiefs in an interconference matchup. The Giants and Chiefs played a close game in the 1st half, but the Chiefs blew it wide open in the 2nd half.

Later in the day, the New York Jets were in Tennessee to face the Titans in hopes to seek revenge for the Music City Meltdown yesterday, but this ended up becoming a bigger meltdown as Geno Smith committed many turnovers.

WWE
Tonight on Raw is the final Raw before the WWE Battleground PPV. Also, WWE will be bringing back the "pink ribbon" for Breast Cancer Awareness Month due to their partnership with Susan G. Komen Foundation. Here is a recap of WWE programming from last week.

That's all I have to say for now. Have a good week!
